Sublime Summer
This is a must! How often does Sublime With Rome come to town? Check them out at the Sublime Summer Concert with performances from The Wailers, Pepper, and others. It all goes down on August 18 at Fort York: Garrison Commons. For details and tickets click HERE
Cadence Weapon
After what seems like a super-long hiatus, Cadence Weapon is back! His new album is Hope In Dirt City (released May 29). I haven’t heard the whole thing but I love love love the first single ‘Conditioning’. Check out the video HERE. I saw Cadence Weapon perform back in 2006 with DJ Weezl and it was a super fun time. I’m not sure if Cadence Weapon still tours with DJ Weezl but I have no doubt his show will be just as great, if not better! So try to catch him in town at Lee’s Palace on June 23rd. Also performing are The Japandroids (yesssss!). Tickets and info is HERE.

Another membership drive is approaching…
What does this mean?
It means CIUT 89.5 FM, your favourite community radio station (which is also a non-profit registered charitable organization) would appreciate any support you can offer to help us continue another year of broadcasting. The money raised goes towards programming and facility upgrades.
All of the programmers on the air are VOLUNTEERS, we don’t get paid for the time we put into preparing the shows, updating online content, or our time at the station doing programming. In fact, most of us pay to be members ourselves!
So, if you would like to support free, independent, community radio, please click the link below:

DONT FORGET TO MENTION BLISSFUL THUNDER AS YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW!!
Canadian Music Fest 2012! Recommendations…
22 MarHey Everyone,
If you are a music fan you will most likely be attending some Canadian Music Fest events. As you know, there are hundreds of artists in town and it is often hard to pick a venue or an act to go see since so many great performances are happening at the same time. I am going to offer some suggestions here, but I encourage you to do some of your own research or maybe just go out to a venue you like and wait to see who hits the stage. But whatever you do, discover something. See bands you didn’t know existed, explore different venues, speak to people you come into contact with. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy!
Also, just a quick tip: Popular venues (Horseshoe, Rivoli, Wrongbar, etc.) will fill up fast! So get there early and plan to stay. If you are showing up for a later performance, expect to wait in line for a bit.
